Apple’s ‘Brick’ – Here we go again !!

After Kevin Rose spoiled the last Apple event by leaking photos of the new iPod Nano and iTunes 8, the industry analyst and rumor specialists are again at work. The target – Apple’s next event.

The new buzz word doing the rounds is ‘Brick’. There are many speculations above the ‘Brick’ code name for an upcoming MacBook update. There are couple of interesting thoughts about this, though no one has any evidence for their suggestions.

The first one that has come up is about an USB Hub (a ‘brick’ shaped one!). This one has started after few people stumbled upon an image from Flickr. Though no one knows if it is done using Photoshop or if it is genuine(I highly doubt!), it seems to have generated an interesting idea. What does an USB hub do ? Check here. It makes your cables ‘disappear’ (except for the power cable)!

Apple's 'Brick' ?

The second one that is doing the rounds is about a ‘Brick’ concept, rather than a product. Apple might make the final push into the PC market share by drastically reducing the price for their MacBooks. Which will effectively break the ‘Windows’ hold on the consumer market. How to break your ‘window’ ? Throw a ‘Brick’ at it !!

I would like to see the second one happening. By reducing the price, Apple will gain much more than by introducing a brick-like product.

It seems October 14th is the date. Let’s keep our fingers crossed !!
